Question & Answer

My favorite part is that Aspen Meadows is completely surrounded by natural beauty. The other reason is the fact that it is owned by the Aspen Institute, which ensures an intellectually stimulating environment, especially during the summer. I'm a total nerd, so having conversations happen at my bar about energy policy one day and particle physics the next is beyond cool.

I realized that I absolutely love taking care of people and helping make lasting memories. Before working in service, the thought of having a full conversation with a stranger was anxiety inducing, but now it's one of my favorite parts of the job.

It's a great way to meet amazing people and transfer positive energy into the world. People come to a hotel for a variety of reasons and it's my job to make sure they feel like they are at their home away from home. You can do that in so many ways through actions big and small. A smile. Going out of your way to create a brand new cocktail for them. Helping guide their experience on property to make sure its optimal. The list goes on.

Energy is contagious and you have the choice to spread it positively or negatively.

Definitely the West End Social Patio. Best view in Aspen hands down - without of course having to ride a gondola or hike a few thousand feet.

I learned Mandarin Chinese for many years but have forgotten most of it.

Coffee flavored ice cream

Ice hockey, snowboarding, hiking, river paddle boarding, bonfires, and hanging with friends.

Nuclear fusion

Flying for sure.

I actually run a startup company in my free time called Numanity. We are building a digital environmental education platform to help convert interest in the environment to action and a deeper understanding of how our natural world plays into our personal and professional lives. The company came about from research I conducted during my Masters of Environmental Management program relating to the cognitive disconnect between humans and the environment. You can learn more at www.numanity.us. We are early in our process but are having a blast as we build in our free time.

Coffee in the AM. Get on the river with friends or the mountain depending on the season. Get a drink to celebrate. Get to bed early to then head to the coffee shop to get set for the coming week and have our Sunday meeting with my Numanity team where we all go over the coming week's objectives and reflect on the previous week's sprint. It's seriously so fun. We all just nerd out the whole time.
