QUESTION & ANSWER
I liked the unique features of this hotel such as the walking path to the wharf. I also like that this is one of the only hotels with such a big lawn. Lastly, I am a big fan of tea, so to find out that there is an Afternoon Tea option at this hotel, I was instantly drawn to this beauty. Lastly, I want to mention the Spa and the lovely comments I receive when I mention the Spa to other guests. Everyone in D.C. knows about this Spa.
My parents are Sri Lankan and I was born and raised in Austria. I moved here when I was in high school, so being around and learning about cultures was always a passion of mine. What better way than to do that in the hospitality industry, meeting airline crew, meeting business travelers and meeting tourists from around the world was always intriguing to me.
One of the most inspirational moments in my career so far is meeting The President of the United States and one of the things he said was: "One thing people don't realize is that you all in the hotel industry, have one of the hardest jobs, especially when they tell you the president is coming."
- My mother who recently passed away in December 2022. I have never met a more loving, hardworking, beautiful, and fashionable woman.
