Dear Family Reunion friends, partners, and community:

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Family Reunion, scheduled to be held August 20-23.

Partnership support has been impacted by several other events specific to this summer, and despite our best efforts, moving forward would have required compromise, and that is something we are not willing to do out of respect for our chefs, our guests, our partners, and the values that define The Family Reunion.

This event has always been more than a festival. It is a gathering rooted in family, storytelling, culture, and care—created to honor diverse history, chefs, partners, and guests in a way that feels meaningful and whole—and we will always continue with creative opportunities to engage and inspire in the future.

The mission of The Family Reunion is to nurture and develop racial and ethnic diversity within the next generation of hospitality professionals. With a program highlighted by some of the industry’s top talent, for the past five years it has celebrated Black and Brown contributions to food, culture, and hospitality.

After careful consideration, we made the decision to cancel this year’s event due to evolving summer scheduling dynamics that impacted partner participation. Moving forward would have required compromises that did not align with the standards, experience, and values that define The Family Reunion.

The 2026 event will not be rescheduled. However, the team behind The Family Reunion remains committed to creating future opportunities that honor the spirit of this gathering.

Yes. All All-Access and Evening-Only ticket holders will receive a full refund.

Please note:

  • Refunds will be issued automatically to the original form of payment.
  • You do not need to take any action to initiate your refund unless otherwise contacted.
  • Timing may vary depending on your financial institution.

Guests who booked packages that included overnight accommodations (such as stays at Salamander Middleburg or Salamander Washington, DC) will receive communications directly from each property with special offers. Guests are also eligible for a full refund, should they wish.
